Understanding Passage Visibility in PicoBuddy

When you generate a passage in PicoBuddy, it's important to understand who can see it. PicoBuddy offers options to control the visibility of your passages, allowing you to share them with the community or keep them private for specific purposes.

Default Visibility: Community Browsing

By default, any passage you create in PicoBuddy may be visible to other users in the community browsing feature. This allows educators and students to benefit from shared resources and discover new reading materials. Think of it as a collaborative library where everyone can contribute and learn from each other!

Private Passages: Control Who Sees Your Work

For sensitive or specific content, you may want to keep your passages private. Here's what you need to know about Private Passages:

  • Availability: This feature is available on PicoBuddy Pro and Classroom plans.
  • Visibility: Private passages are only visible within your account and to people you have explicitly shared them with. No one else in the PicoBuddy community can see them.
  • Ideal Uses: Create private passages for assessments, personalized learning materials, or content that you don't want to share publicly.

How to Create a Private Passage

When you are creating a new passage, you will see the privacy setting, be sure to select 'Private' if desired.

Important: You must select the privacy setting during the creation process. This setting cannot be changed after the passage has been created. Therefore, consider carefully whether you want the passage to be public or private before you generate it.

With PicoBuddy, you have the flexibility to create engaging reading experiences for your students while maintaining control over the visibility of your content. Happy reading!
