How to Write Better Prompts
Learn how to give the AI specific instructions to get the perfect reading passage for your students.
The Secret to Great AI Passages
The quality of the passage you get depends entirely on the "Topic" you provide. Instead of typing just one word, try giving the AI a bit more context.
1. Use the "Suggestion Chips"
We've provided quick-start buttons like "Fantasy", "Science", or "Biography". These aren't just labels—they actually insert a "prompt starter" into the text box for you.
2. Specify the Goal
Instead of "Sharks", try:
"Write an informational text about how Great White Sharks hunt, using academic vocabulary."
3. Add a Skill Focus
Mentioning a specific skill helps the AI tailor the comprehension questions.
- Vocabulary: "Include 5 challenging context-clue words."
- Inference: "Focus on the character's motivations so students have to read between the lines."
4. Setting the Tone
You can tell the AI to be "humorous", "serious", "mysterious", or "inspiring". This is especially great for fiction and biographies!
