How to Make a Passage Private (Pro & Classroom)
A private passage is only visible to you within your Library. It will not appear in public browsing or community search results. This gives you greater control over the content you create and how it's used.
This feature is available on Pro and Classroom plans.
Why Use Private Passages?
Private passages are useful for:
- Creating passages for personal use, such as lesson planning or brainstorming.
- Developing passages that you're not yet ready to share with the wider community.
- Experimenting with different prompts and settings without making your work public.
- Generating sensitive content only suitable for mature students.
How to Create a Private Passage
Here's how to ensure your passage remains private:
- Go to Create Passage in the main navigation.
- Work through the steps of passage creation until you reach Step 4: Illustration & Privacy.
- Toggle on Make this passage private.
- Complete the passage creation process, and click Create Reading Passage.
Important to Know
- You can only choose the private setting during the passage creation process.
- Once the passage is generated, the privacy setting cannot be changed. Double-check before you create!
- Private passages remain visible only within your account and to the people you have shared them with.
If you want a passage to stay fully under your control, make sure to enable the private toggle before generating it.
