Twirl the Ghost Who Couldn’t Sit Still
Once, in a big, old house, lived a ghost named Twirl. Twirl was a friendly ghost, but he had a big problem. He could not sit still! Other ghosts liked to float quietly, but Twirl liked to zoom around.
One day, the other ghosts said, "Twirl, you make too much noise! We can't rest with all your twirling!" Twirl felt sad. He did not mean to cause trouble.
Twirl went to the attic. He saw a dusty old music box. When he opened it, a pretty song played. Twirl started to dance to the music. He twirled and leaped. He spun and swayed. He danced all around the attic.
Downstairs, the other ghosts heard the music. They came to the attic door. They watched Twirl dance. They smiled. “That’s not so bad,” whispered one ghost. “He’s really good!” said another.
When the music stopped, the ghosts clapped. “Twirl,” said the oldest ghost, “you can twirl all you want. Just do it with music, so we can enjoy it too!”
From that day on, Twirl danced in the attic. The other ghosts listened to the music. Sometimes, they even danced with him. Twirl was happy because he could twirl. The other ghosts were happy because they had music and a dancing friend.
