The Little Fisherman

Once, there was a little boy named Tim. Tim loved the sea. He loved the boats. Most of all, Tim loved fish!

Tim had a small fishing pole. It was blue and shiny. He would go to the dock with his dad. They would fish together. Tim's dad showed him how to put the worm on the hook.

"Now, we wait," said Tim's dad. Tim waited and waited. He looked at the water. He saw a small fish jump! "Wow!" Tim shouted.

Soon, Tim felt a tug. "I got one!" he yelled. His dad helped him pull the fish in. It was a small, silver fish. Tim was so happy. He held it gently.

"Can we keep it?" Tim asked. His dad smiled. "We can, but maybe we should let it go. It's small. It needs to grow bigger!"

Tim thought about it. The fish looked so small in his hands. "Okay," said Tim. He put the fish back in the water. The fish swam away quickly. Tim waved goodbye.

"Good job, Tim," said his dad. "You helped the fish. Now it can grow big and strong!" Tim smiled. He felt good about helping the fish. He knew he would catch another one soon, but today, he learned that helping is important too.
