Stella's Space Dream

Stella loved to look at the stars. Every night, she would sit by her window and look up. She dreamed of flying in space. She wanted to be an astronaut!

What Astronauts Do

Stella learned that astronauts do many things. They fly in rockets. They float in space. They fix things on the space station. They do science to learn new things!

Stella read books about Sally Ride, the first American woman in space. Sally was brave and smart. Stella wanted to be like her.

Stella's Big Day

One day, Stella got a big box. It was a space suit! Her mom smiled. "Let's pretend you are going to space today!" she said. Stella put on the suit. It was big and puffy. She felt like she was floating already.

Stella went outside. She looked at the sky. "I am going to the moon!" she shouted. She jumped and pretended to float. She planted a flag in her yard. "I am a space explorer!" she said.

Stella knew it was pretend, but she felt like she was really in space. She knew that if she worked hard, one day her dream could come true.

A Space Picnic

Stella's mom packed a picnic. They ate space food snacks. They looked at the stars together. Stella knew that even if she wasn't really in space, she could still dream big. And maybe, just maybe, one day she would fly among the stars for real!
