Skateboarding Star: Lily's Big Dream
Lily loved to skateboard. She skated to school. She skated in the park. She even skated to the store with her mom! Lily dreamed of being a skateboarding star. She watched big kids do cool tricks. She wanted to do tricks too.
One day, Lily saw a poster. It said, "National Skateboarding Competition!" Lily’s eyes got big. This was her chance! But there was a problem. Lily had never been in a competition. She didn't even know how to do many tricks.
Lily felt sad. She almost gave up. Then, she remembered what her grandpa always said. "Never give up on your dreams!" Lily smiled. She decided to try her best.
Lily started to practice every day. She fell a lot. Sometimes it hurt. But Lily got up every time. She learned new tricks. She learned to ollie. She learned to kickflip. She even learned to grind on a rail!
The day of the competition came. Lily was nervous. So many people were watching! But Lily took a deep breath. She remembered all her practice. She started to skate. She ollied over boxes. She kickflipped in the air. She even grinded on the rail!
The crowd cheered. Lily smiled. She had done her best. She may not have won. But she tried her hardest. And that made her a winner.
After the competition, a famous skater came up to Lily. He said, "You are a great skater! Never stop skating!" Lily beamed with pride. She knew she would keep skating. She would keep dreaming. She would become a skateboarding star!
