Monster's Colorful Feelings

Once, there was a little monster named Boo. Boo was furry and had big, round eyes. But Boo had a big problem. His fur kept changing colors!

One day, Boo woke up, and his fur was bright red. "Oh no!" Boo cried. "Why am I red?" He felt hot inside. His tummy felt funny. He stomped his feet. Red must mean mad, he thought. Boo was confused.

Later, Boo saw his friend, Pip. Pip was a small, blue monster. Boo wanted to play with Pip. He walked up to Pip, and suddenly his fur turned yellow! "Now I'm yellow?" Boo asked. He felt warm and happy when he saw Pip. Maybe yellow means happy, he wondered.

"What's wrong, Boo?" Pip asked. Boo said, "My fur keeps changing colors, and I don't know why!"

Pip smiled. "Those are your feelings, Boo! When you feel mad, you turn red. When you feel happy, you turn yellow."

Boo's eyes got big. "Feelings?"

Pip nodded. "Yes! Sometimes you feel blue when you are sad. Or green if you are scared!"

Boo thought about it. "So, my colors show how I feel?" Pip nodded.

Boo smiled a big, monster smile. His fur turned a bright, sunny yellow. "I like learning about feelings!" he said. Pip smiled back. "Me too!" he said. From that day on, Boo wasn't confused anymore. He knew his colors showed his feelings, and that was okay!
