Lily's Big Jump

Lily loved winter! She loved the snow, the hot cocoa, and most of all, the Winter Olympics. She watched the ski jumpers fly through the air. "I want to do that!" she said.

But there was a problem. Lily was scared of heights. Even climbing the stairs to her treehouse made her tummy feel funny.

One day, Lily's mom took her to a small ski hill. There was a tiny jump. "Just try it," Mom said. Lily shook her head. "No way! It's too high!"

Mom smiled. "Just go to the top. You don't have to jump." Lily slowly walked up the little hill. She looked down. Whoa! It looked very high from up there.

Lily took a deep breath. She closed her eyes. Then, she zoomed down the hill. She went over the tiny jump! It was so fast and fun! She landed with a giggle.

"I did it!" Lily shouted. She jumped again and again. Each time, she felt braver. The big Olympic jump still seemed scary, but now Lily knew she could try hard things.

That night, Lily dreamed she was flying through the air at the Olympics. She wasn't scared at all. She was smiling! She knew that with practice, maybe one day her dream would come true.
