Farmer Ben's Busy Day

Farmer Ben wakes up when the sun comes up. The rooster says, "Cock-a-doodle-doo!" Ben gets dressed and goes outside.

First, Ben feeds the hens. The hens eat corn. "Cluck, cluck," say the hens. Next, Ben milks the cows. The cows say, "Moo, moo." He gets yummy milk from them.

Then, Ben waters the plants. The plants grow big and strong. He grows corn, beans, and peas. Bees buzz around the flowers. They make honey.

After that, Ben fixes the fence. A cow bumped it down. He uses wood and nails. Now, the cows can't get out. He smiles.

Last, Ben watches the sun go down. The stars come out. He feels happy. He likes being a farmer. It is hard work, but it is good work. He goes to bed, ready for another day.
