Backyard Winter Games
Once, in a land of snow, lived friends: Pip the penguin, Rosie the rabbit, and Finley the fox. Winter was here! "Let's have our own games!" shouted Pip.
Rosie loved to hop. Finley was quick and could dash. Pip was great at sliding on his belly.
They made a plan. Rosie would hop over snow mounds. Finley would dash around the pine trees. Pip would slide down the icy hill. They made each event a special part of their winter games.
"Ready, set, go!" cried Rosie. Finley dashed so fast. Pip slid with joy. Rosie hopped with all her might. All cheered each other on.
Even though Finley was fastest and Pip slid the best, Rosie reminded everyone, “It's fun to try and cheer!" At the end, they all shared warm cocoa. Being friends was the best prize of all.
- Dash: To run very fast.
- Cheer: To shout words to show you like something.
