A Snowy Surprise
Lily loved fall. She liked the red and yellow leaves. She liked to jump in piles of leaves. But one day, everything changed.
It started to snow! Big, white flakes fell from the sky. Lily had never seen snow before. She ran outside with her coat. Her friend Tom was there, too.
"Wow!" said Lily. "It's so pretty!"
Tom smiled. "Let's make a snowman!" he said.
Lily and Tom rolled big balls of snow. They put one on top of the other. Then, they found sticks for arms. They used a carrot for the nose.
"He needs a hat!" Lily said. She ran home and got her red hat. She put it on the snowman's head.
Just then, a little white fox came to play. It had a cookie in its mouth! Lily gave the fox a hug. The fox snuggled close. It was the best snowy day ever!
