The Mystery of the Missing Toy Boat

Lily loved her toy boat, the Sea Star. It was small and blue, with a bright yellow sail. One sunny morning, Lily took the Sea Star to the park. She sailed it in the pond with her friend, Tom.

"Look how fast it goes!" Lily shouted, as the Sea Star zipped across the water. They played for a long time, laughing and having fun.

But when it was time to go home, something was wrong. The Sea Star was gone! Lily and Tom looked everywhere. They searched around the pond and under the trees. The Sea Star was nowhere to be found.

"Oh no!" cried Lily. "Where could it be?"

Tom thought for a moment. "Maybe someone took it by mistake," he said. "Let's look for clues!"

They started their adventure. First, they saw small footprints near the pond. The footprints led to a bench. On the bench, they found a shiny button.

"This isn't my button," said Tom. "And it isn't yours, Lily."

Next, they followed the footprints to the ice cream stand. There, they saw a little girl with a blue toy boat! It looked just like the Sea Star! The girl was sad.

"I lost my boat," she said. "It looks just like this one."

Lily looked closely at the boat. It wasn't the Sea Star. Lily's boat had a tiny star sticker on the sail.

"This isn't my boat," Lily said to the little girl. "But maybe we can find yours together!"

The three children looked and looked. Finally, Tom spotted something in the bushes. It was a small, blue boat with a bright yellow sail!

"I found it!" Tom shouted. The little girl was so happy. It was her boat! Lily was happy too, but she still didn't find her boat. After a few more minutes of looking Lily and Tom decided to head home.

When Lily got home she found the Sea Star sitting on her window sill. Her mother explained that she had taken it inside when she saw that it was getting windy. Lily was so happy that the mystery of the Sea Star was solved.
