Spring is Here!
Lily lived in a little house by the woods. Winter was long and cold, but Lily knew spring was coming. She waited for the green leaves and pretty flowers.
Looking for Spring
Every day, Lily looked out the window. One day, she saw tiny white flowers pushing up through the snow. "Spring is here!" she said. Then, she saw a robin with a red tummy hopping on a branch. The birds started to sing again. Lily knew spring was on its way.
The Spring Day
The sun shone bright. The air felt warm. Lily smelled the earth. She ran outside and saw lots of colorful tulips. Yellow daffodils stood up tall. The big tree had little green leaves. It looked like someone painted the world!
A Big Surprise
Lily walked in the park. She saw something shiny by a cherry tree. She looked closer and saw a little nest. It was hidden in the flowers. In the nest were four little blue eggs. Lily was so happy! This was the best surprise. It was a secret, a new little life, in her town.
She said she would look at the nest every day. She would wait and watch, like she waited for spring. Soon, little birds would hatch, and the world would be even more wonderful.
