Princess Lily and the Nighttime Worries
Once upon a time, in a big, grand castle, lived Princess Lily. She had pretty dresses, yummy treats, and lots of toys. But Lily had a secret. She was scared of the dark!
Every night, when the sun went down, Lily felt worried. The shadows in her room looked like monsters. The quiet sounds seemed like scary noises. Lily would hug her teddy bear, Mr. Snuggles, very tight.
One night, Lily said, "Oh, Mr. Snuggles, I am scared! The dark is so big and black! What if a monster comes?"
Mr. Snuggles, of course, could not talk. But Lily knew what Mr. Snuggles would say. He would say, "It's okay to be scared, Lily. But the dark is not all bad. The moon and stars come out at night. They are pretty and bright!"
Lily looked out the window. She saw the moon shining like a big, silver coin. She saw the stars twinkling like tiny diamonds. Lily took a deep breath. "You are right, Mr. Snuggles," she said. "The night is not just dark. It's also sparkly!"
Lily closed her eyes. She thought about the moon and the stars. She thought about how Mr. Snuggles was always there for her. Lily smiled. The dark was still a little scary, but now it was also a little bit magical. And with Mr. Snuggles by her side, Lily knew she could be brave, even in the dark.
