Life in a Castle
Imagine living in a giant, stone house with tall towers and strong walls. That's what it was like to live in a castle long ago! Castles were not just homes; they were also built to keep people safe.
Moats and Walls
Many castles had a big ditch filled with water all around them. This was called a moat. The moat made it hard for enemies to get close to the castle. After the moat, there were tall, thick walls. These walls were made of stone and were very strong. People could stand on top of the walls and watch for anyone coming near.
Knights and Armor
Knights lived in the castle and protected it. They wore shiny metal suits called armor. Armor helped keep them safe when they were fighting. Knights used swords, shields, and lances. They were very brave and strong.
Servants and Daily Life
Many people worked in the castle. Servants cooked food, cleaned rooms, and took care of the animals. Life in a castle was busy. There were big feasts in the great hall, where everyone ate together. Sometimes, there were even dances and music!
The King and Queen
The king and queen were in charge of the castle. They had the biggest rooms and wore the fanciest clothes. They made important decisions and kept everyone in the castle safe and happy. Living in a castle was an exciting adventure!
