A Night in the Wild

Leo loved camping. More than video games, more than pizza, even more than his own birthday! There was something magical about being outdoors, surrounded by tall trees and the sounds of nature. This weekend, he was on his first ever solo camping trip with his dog, Gus.

They arrived at the campsite late in the afternoon. First, they set up the bright yellow tent, making sure it was snug and secure. Next, Leo collected fallen branches for a campfire. Gus, his golden retriever, watched with eager eyes, tail wagging, ready for adventure.

As the sun began to set, painting the sky in shades of orange and purple, Leo carefully built a small fire. The crackling flames danced and leaped, casting flickering shadows around them. Gus sat patiently by his side, occasionally glancing up at Leo with adoration.

Leo poked marshmallows with a stick into the fire. Once they were perfectly golden brown and gooey, he shared a piece with Gus, who happily chomped it down. Sitting by the campfire, Leo felt a sense of peace wash over him. He looked up at the twinkling stars, feeling grateful for the simple joy of camping and the loyal companionship of his furry friend.
